Experienced landscaping pavers in Schuylkill County, PA

The Leone's worked with our designer to create an outdoor living space which would function as an area for family and friends to gather. The two main elements the clients requested were a level area to erect a play set for their children and their friends to play as well as an outdoor fire pit where they could comfortably gather and roast hot dogs and marshmallows. They wanted the patio space generous and open to allow ample room for large gatherings. Taking their needs into consideration, our designer created spaces for each of these requests as well as implementing other design elements such as a water fountain, landscape lighting and plantings that provide interest throughout the seasons.

The Leone's property is situated on about two acres in a development setting. The property slopes from the front of the home toward the rear of the lot. The property was once open farmland and lacks mature trees for shade and privacy. Although privacy was not a major concern for the project, a few trees were chosen to frame and enhance the large scale size of the patio and home. Ornamental and perennial plantings were chosen for full sun, low maintenance, extended bloom time and if possible multi-seasonal interest. Small retaining walls were created on each rear corner of the home to compensate for change in grade as well as provide room for casual seating.

There were little challenges encountered during construction of this project. We utilized the slope and grade changes to our advantage by creating two separate levels for entertaining while maintaining flow and functionality.

The patios were constructed using EP Henry Village Square® pavers. We created a pattern using 12x12, 6x12 and 6x6 pavers of a neutral pewter color and bordered the entire project with a 6x6 charcoal border. The same charcoal pavers were integrated within the pattern as well. A combination of 3" and 6" Coventry® Wall block was used to create seat walls, steps, pillars and a fire pit. Charcoal Bullnose pavers were used as the capping for the seat wall around the fire pit to accentuate the area as well as providing a softer seat. EP Henry Terrace Wall™ was used to construct two retaining walls and a set of steps into the design. Using large gray-toned natural stone, garden paths were incorporated into the design adding a unique natural element. Integral® light fixtures were integrated into the patio steps, walls and pillars. Kichler® landscape light fixtures were used throughout the project to highlight plant material, pathways and a multi-tier fountain. Gray toned 1-3" decorative stone was installed throughout the design to aid in drainage as well as add another dimension to the project. The same colored stone was used in larger sizes to border the play set area.

Each project our company undertakes has its own unique features. Blending the man made pavers and natural stone elements together create a tasteful and inviting landscape. It was a real pleasure to see all the unique aspects of the project unfold, from the initial design consultation to the last installed plant, not to mention surpassing our client's expectations.
